Telestroke is the utilization of telehealth for acute stroke evaluations. Telestroke networks exist across the country, providing acute neurological evaluations and treatment for patients with acute stroke symptoms. This service requires significant resources but brings valuable care to previously underserved areas. This chapter will review the history, technical aspects, and protocols related to Telestroke evaluations.
