Returning to Work and Driving

Many stroke patients aim to return to work and driving. However, since the range of impairments following a stroke can be diverse, healthcare providers must evaluate patients thoroughly and guide them toward achieving their goals. This chapter presents key concepts for returning to work and driving, identifies challenges that may arise due to specific symptoms, provides recommendations to optimize a patient’s chances of a successful return to work, and offers guidance on navigating difficult conversations about driving cessation.
