Stroke Rehab

Stroke is the number one cause of disability in the United States. Appropriate stroke treatment and aggressive rehabilitation can help minimize the degree of disability for patients following a stroke. This chapter reviews concepts of rehabilitation, including roles of therapists, rehab facilities, and techniques. Understanding these concepts can help stroke providers refer to appropriate therapists and communicate the importance of rehab with their patients.
