Cardioembolic Stroke

Cardiac embolism is a common mechanism of stroke, and the most common reason for it is atrial fibrillation. In this chapter, we will discuss when to consider cardiac embolism as the cause of stroke, how to evaluate for structural lesions and arrhythmias, and appropriate strategies for preventing recurrent strokes.
