Introduction

This introductory chapter sets out the rationale of the book. Marketisation has affected the higher education sectors in many countries, and many have assumed that neoliberalism is the culprit. The chapter explains that we need to critically assess neoliberalism’s role in the marketisation of higher education. It ends by setting out the organisation of the book.
