This chapter reviews the different types of mammographic imaging (analog, full-field digital, digital breast tomosynthesis, and contrast-enhanced), essential mammographic physics, key quality control metrics, and mammographic technique and quality metrics. There is also discussion regarding mammographic breast density and a systematic approach to interpretation.
