摘要

In this study impact of various FDM printing parameters on tensile mechanical properties of FDM printed PLA material is investigated. Additional techno-economic analysis is performed to assess the effects of printing parameters on the printing time and material consumption. Definitive screening design (DSD), a relatively new experimental design, is proposed for designing experiments as it enables integration of screening and optimization experiments. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and regression analysis is performed on experimental data to assess impact of FDM printing parameters on the maximum tensile force, printing time and material consumption. The results indicate that the most influential FDM printing parameters on the maximum tensile force, printing time and material consumptions are the layer height, wall thickness and infill density. Maximum tensile force and printing time are highly affected by printing speed. Developed regression models for prediction of all three responses are confirmed by additional experiments.
