Overview of Applications of Graphene and Graphene Derived Photocatalysis
摘要
Extensive research proposed that graphene (GR) is considered a favorable material in nanotechnology and has attained a huge attraction in previous years. That’s why the application of GR has been extended to promote the efficiency of photocatalysts. Photocatalysis is an eco-friendly, energy efficient, and cost-effective technique that is induced by solar energy, considering a significant approach that have been used more frequently due to its characteristics. Moreover, GR is composed of one layer of graphite having 2D structure, good conductivity power, chemical stability, high surface area, and good electron mobility that induces GR toward photocatalytic action. The main aim of this chapter is to access GR and GR derivatives and their application for photocatalysis owing its physiochemical, optical and electrical properties of GR. As GR-based photocatalysis has the ability to produce hydrogen, degradation of organic and inorganic pollutants, carbon dioxide conversion for fuel generation and other applications also discussed in this chapter.
