Students Attitude Towards Developing Entrepreneurship Education at Sulatanate of Oman

There is a growing interest in understanding the impact of entrepreneurship education (EE) provision across schools in Sultanate of Oman. This study provides further insight on the impact of EE on developing students who eventually become graduates after they completed their schooling. This study is premised on entrepreneurship education programmes in schools having an impact on students who eventually become entrepreneurial graduates. This study addresses key questions related to the importance of EE in schools by investigating staff and student’s expectations and perceptions, factors affecting the entrepreneurship and the skills needed to become entrepreneur. Descriptive study was used for the study. A sample of 711 (Students and Staffs) has been considered in the study from Oman by using convenient sampling technique. The perceptions of school students in Oman have been evaluated through the questionnaire. Descriptive statistics have been taken through the Ms. Excel and Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS) of the responses obtained from the participants. Anova, Chi square, Correlation have also been applied to assess the impact of independent variables and dependent variables. The results have suggested positive entrepreneurial attitudes of the school students in Oman. The results showed positive and strong relationship between their attitudes and intentions to start the business. Therefore, creating positive attitudes of entrepreneurship among students will increase the probability of their intention to establish and launch a start-up. Findings from this study confirmed that awareness to be made for the students and staffs in schools to know about the importance of entrepreneurship education especially from all the stakeholders like Government, Education policy makers, University authorities, and Lecturers had the most influence on the design and content of EE provision and implement in schools.
