摘要
Scholars have written about the “crisis in the humanities.” However, in reality there were more than just one crisis. This book analyzed 11 distinct “crises in the humanities,” including declines in college enrollments, increases in the number of college faculty members, the growth in the number of Ph.D. degrees awarded, declines in undergraduate student major in the humanities, declines in the number of master’s students majoring in the humanities, declines in graduate school enrollments, financial concerns about college libraries, college financial issues, the impact of Covid on colleges, gender disparity, and declines in attendance and financial support for museums.
