摘要

Hair disorders are common in dermatology clinics and include various conditions of hair loss (alopecia) as well as conditions accompanied by excessive hair growth (hypertrichosis and hirsutism). The most common conditions related to hair loss include androgenetic alopecia, telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, and trichotillomania. In contrast to hypotrichosis, hirsutism is defined as the excessive growth of terminal hair in women in a typical male pattern. Hair disorders also include hair shaft defects, which encompass a group of congenital and acquired structural defects of the hair shaft, usually associated with some inherited syndromes.
