Disorders of Sebaceous and Sweat Glands
摘要
Alteration of sebum production is called dysseborrhoea, which can manifest in increased production of sebum, known as seborrhea, or reduced production of sebum, called sebostasis. Seborrhea is the main pathogenetic factor for acne but can contribute to the manifestation of rosacea or seborrheic dermatitis. Eccrine sweat gland disorders include increased sweating (hyperhidrosis), reduced sweating (hypohidrosis), and miliaria. Associated disorders of apocrine sweat glands are Fox–Fordyce disease, bromhidrosis, and chromhidrosis. Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic disease of the apocrine glands, but it is described in another chapter.
