Quebracho

Tannins (polyphenols), categorized as naturally occurring reagents, have recently shown promising impact in mineral processing applications. As mentioned, with an emphasis on green mineral processing, various kinds of tannins have been investigated as potential depressants in different froth flotation systems. Tannins, mainly humate derivatives, are divided into two chemically distinct groups: condensed and hydrolyzable. One of the most famous types of tannins is quebracho, which belongs to the group of condensed tannins. In acidic and alkaline environments as well as when enzymes are added, this chemical compound remains chemically stable and does not break down into other compounds.
