What to Do When (Not if) Things Get Rough
摘要
In Chap. 9 , we discuss some common career setbacks, including burnout, self-sabotage, mid-career malaise, conflict, and bullying. Academic medicine is demanding and the odds are high that you will experience some, if not all, of these surmountable obstacles. In this chapter, we discuss various coping mechanisms, strategies, and self-reflection exercises to help mitigate the impact of these situations. The chapter describes institutional resources to support employees who witness or experience misconduct and/or inappropriate behavior.
