Eigenvalue Problems

We have already met eigenvalues several times in this book, e.g., in the context of norms and condition numbers. However, eigenvalues play an important role not only in mathematics but also in engineering when examining stability and oscillation problems or in Internet searching by ranking pages. We usually do not have an exact formula for the calculation of the eigenvalues, and they can only be approximated with the help of iterative methods.
