This chapter details Mandea and Ungureanu’s “city game method” in their project on urban play in Victoria, Romania. A transdisciplinary group of creators gathered images, mind maps and other materials of the city and then organised them to present a sociocultural urban geography in a playful structure. The creators designed a game that allows the viewer to participate in recreating the city’s rich tapestry of history using multimedial forms of meaning-making. The game has two parts: an analogue and a digital layer, and it acts as an interface between the players and the city and also as an interpretation of the urban fabric of the town. All the stakeholders of the game can access and manipulate the collected images and stories of the town by being involved in a playful experience and thereby gain a new sense of ownership.

摘要
