摘要

Research on Building Occupants is challenging due to the complexities of multi-domain analysis and the limitations of traditional laboratory settings. Virtual Reality and Immersive Virtual Environments offer advanced solutions for studying the human dimension in buildings. Despite the proven potential of these solutions, the lack of standardized protocols and reliable data collection methods limits their broader use. As a result, this book proposes a novel experimental framework to integrate Virtual Reality technology into Building Occupant Research and support researchers in effectively adopting these solutions to conduct multi-domain studies. The framework is validated through immersive models and empirical studies, demonstrating the effectiveness of Virtual Reality and Immersive Virtual Environments in producing reliable data and supporting evidence-based design practices.
