摘要

Composite tissue flaps, including soft tissue and bone, represent a key component of oromandibular reconstruction. In select patients where thick bone stock is not required, a longer pedicle length is desired, or the fibula-free flap is not a viable option, the osteocutaneous radial forearm free flap is an excellent choice for the reconstructive surgeon. This flap combines the advantages of the radial forearm free flap with the addition of vascularized bone, which can adequately span bony mandibular defects. This chapter details the background information of this free flap and safe harvest techniques that allow one to utilize this advantageous reconstructive option. Further, the chapter also explores multiple options in donor site reconstruction and ways to troubleshoot potential complications that may arise.
