The Reality of Using Artificial Intelligence to Enhance University Education an Applied Study on a Sample of Media Professors in Arab Universities

The overall objective of this study is to explore the role of AI in higher education, focusing on its impact on faculty, students, and the educational system. In addition, the study aims to identify common AI applications, challenges faced in AI adoption, and possible solutions to overcome these challenges. A sample survey method was conducted among lecturers in different media departments in Arab universities to gather information on the use of AI, perceptions of its impact and challenges faced the study the questionnaire included Likert scale items and open-ended questions to elicit detailed responses. Statistical analysis including t-tests and descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data and draw meaningful conclusions. The study shows the widespread adoption of AI in higher education, using AI tools by faculty and students to improve learning efficiency, support multimedia generation, and create student learning experience types for individuals but challenges to its successful implementation such as AI errors, biases and lack of AI experts lead to significant limitations. Proposed solutions include courses and AI teams, creating AI-integrated courses, and providing training programs for the teachers. AI has tremendous potential to transform higher education by optimizing learning practices, improving student outcomes, and streamlining business processes. However, addressing the demanding situations associated with AI’s shortcomings, biases and understanding gaps is vital to make the most of its full blessings. By embracing AI responsibly and proactively, universities can create modern studying environments that empower students and universities.
