The target of this field survey was to make an investigation for Omdurman formation special Abuduloo Area by using for vertical Electric sounding (VES) Method which is widely used to make such surveys for resolving the subsurface lithology. 10 VES has been made during the survey. Qualitative and Quantitative interpretation has been made by using software Called IPI2win. The result was a different layers has composed of. These layers are Superficial deposits, Clay, Clay-sand, Sand, Gravel, and Siliceous sandstone. At the depth of 21–91 m there is a ground water associated with the Sand beds, and it has a minimum resistivity which indicates that this water is a saline water. It has a range from (28 to 94 Ωm). The thickness of this aquifer is 21–59 m. Also at the depth of 56–230m along VES indicates good prospects for ground water potential, associated with sand beds. The interpreted sounding curves are interpreted qualitatively and pseudo section, and Resistivity section are prepared based on resistivity contrast which shows agreement with geology and hydrological condition of the area. The favorable reservoir rock as an aquifer demarcated in the study area is sand, with apparent resistivity range of 100Ωm to 230 Ωm and thickness of 96 to 404 m at different sites.
