Analytical Study of X-Ray Talbot Interferometry on Over-Dense Plasma

Based on Fresnel propagation approximation, analytical equations of Talbot (also called grating-based) interferometry are deduced. Preliminary simulations are thus conducted as to the x-ray imaging of homogeneous cylindrically symmetric over-dense plasma with Talbot interferometry, showing the potential capability to retrieve the density profile of over-dense plasma with high sensitivity. The main concerns of practical x-ray Talbot interferometry in the field of high energy density plasma are shortly introduced.
