Greening Main Street USA: Adapting Sustainability Indicators to Rural Areas

Given the recent rises in climate change, inflation rates, and social strife, sustainable development is increasingly important. Accordingly, sustainability indicators should be adapted for use across a variety of local levels, not just in the urban counties containing metropolitan hotspots where they are currently most commonly employed. As sustainable development indicators reflect the relationship of both communal and individual sustainability and resiliency, this project will highlight areas of concern that could further advance sustainable development in rural areas in developed countries.
