Electricity System Modeling
摘要
Thermal power plants are the backbone of the power system supply side. They burn fuel, either fossil fuel or different types of renewable fuels such as biomass, and generate electricity which is then sent to the demand side using transmission and distribution lines. To optimize supply side performance, first the objective function should be defined clearly and then important operational constraints must be specified and modelled mathematically. The aim of this chapter is the introduce the objective function and main technical and operational constraints of thermal power plants and provide their mathematical formulation.
