AI Assisting Individuals as Team Members

This chapter provides guiding ideas, based on the micro and meso frameworks developed thus far, for the development of AI applications that enhance a team’s or organization’s agency while keeping the imperative causal role of learning in focus for each member. The chapter asserts that AI applications at the meso level must balance individual needs for contributing to the team with the team’s mission. Conflicts must be resolved to the benefit of the team rather than the individual, otherwise a team ceases to exist.
