Fetal and Neonatal Tumors
摘要
Neonatal tumors are diagnosed by prenatal ultrasound or clinical findings during the newborn period. Most tumors will be benign, and they present unique features related to their biology, association with cancer predisposition syndromes, and increased vulnerability of the patients to oncological treatment. Germ cell tumors, neuroblastoma, and soft tissue tumors are the most frequent diagnoses. General prognosis of neonatal tumors is better than in older children, but they impose a significant challenge to the clinician and the surgeon and require individualized management.
