Effects of ASQ-Based E-books on Nursing Students’ Learning Performance
摘要
Congenital heart diseases are commonly seen in the pediatrics department. Knowledge content related to such diseases involve cardiac anatomy, cardiac hemodynamics, systemic circulation, and fetal circulation. Traditional teaching processes mostly use images and textual descriptions to demonstrate the content. However, most of the traditional teaching process is only presented through graphic descriptions, and it is difficult for students to connect the knowledge of dynamic heart structure and its blood flows. Accordingly, the present study used interactive e-books based on annotation, summarizing, and questioning (ASQ) strategies as the teaching intervention approach to explore the effects of the approach on students’ learning effectiveness in a course unit of congenital heart diseases in pediatric nursing. The experimental results revealed that the participants exhibited significant improvement in learning achievement and learning motivation. The results implied that the use of “interactive e-books incorporated with ASQ strategies” on nursing students effectively helped their thinking and knowledge construction, thereby benefiting their understanding of knowledge regarding congenital heart diseases.
