摘要

Bionics, biomimetics, and biodesign are often associated with the employment of state-of-the-art technologies from the investigation to the application of natural characteristics in projects. In addition to a more sustainable approach, contemporary jewelry is focused on the disruptive application of unusual materials and processes, either by exploring new forms of inspiration or looking at ways to universalize its methods. In this sense, this chapter explores the use of accessible technologies and processes for the application of bioinspired design, intending to make it more reachable and affordable. Light microscopy, 3D scanning, and 3D printing are proposed as methods of observation and manufacturing of bioinspired designs, applied in the development of a contemporary jewelry collection.
