Bilateral Formation of a Seam During One-Sided Welding of a Tee Joint of a Pipe with a Strip

摘要

It is shown that when welding a tee joint of a pipe with a strip with a one-sided seam, it is possible to provide two-sided formation of seams and the bearing capacity of the joint, which is not inferior to the strength of the strip. The main parameters of the arc welding mode and the geometrical parameters of the assembly, the inclination of the torch, which ensure complete penetration, are revealed. The results of the depth of penetration of tee joints, the nature of their destruction and the bearing capacity of the welds depending on the size of the gap during welding, which were obtained by metallographic analysis of experimental samples and mechanical tests for separation, are presented. The use of one-sided welding with two-sided formation of seams greatly simplifies the design of assembly and welding equipment, helps to reduce labor intensity, more economical use of welding materials and equipment, reduces manufacturing time, energy consumption and saves factory space.
