Design Improvement of the In-Built Regulator of Volumetric Capacity of Single Screw Compressor

摘要

Screw compressors are one of the most common designs in the volume-type machine segment, competing with piston and scroll technologies. The single-rotor type of screw compressor has found wide usage in various industries, including refrigeration and pneumatic systems. This design has a number of constructive and technological advantages, including the possibility of being provided with various capacity control devices. The process of capacity regulation of screw compressors involves effective and reliable control systems. In practice, in-built capacity regulators have proved to be the optimum technical solution in this area. However, in some cases the design of such regulators involves structural changes in the compressor, with the formation of additional cavities in the casing, the presence of moving elements, complex drive systems, etc. These factors negatively affect the simplicity and reliability of the regulator, and also become the cause of increased leakage of the working medium. In this context, the development of a simple and effective design of a capacity regulator of the in-built type is relevant.
