Improving the Efficiency of Cone Crushers in the Mining Industry

Mining industry makes heavy use of crushing equipment to process raw materials is common. In particular, the main shaft of a cone crusher, which is one of its most important parts, experiences increased loading, leading to the need for repairs or replacement. The improvement of technological and design solutions for production processes is one of the factors that influences the development of the industry. The paper considers the impact of the type of fixation of the main shaft of a cone crusher on a metal-cutting machine on the accuracy of its surfaces and proposes a methodology for determining the critical rotational speed of the shaft during processing. It is advisable to fix large-sized parts such as the main shaft of cone crushers in the chuck and the center of the tailstock in order to obtain a given surface accuracy with an increase in processing performance. The calculation method presented in the paper significantly simplifies the process of determining the critical rotational speed of the main shaft in cone crushers.
