Random Walks and Recurrence

This chapter reviews the recurrence and transience properties of multidimensional random walks, and considers the calculation of hitting probabilities and mean hitting times in more sophisticated examples such as reflected and conditioned random walks. Those results will be applied to the study of random walks in cookie environment, or excited random walks, in Chap. 5 .
