Application of Forensic Techniques to Blood Analysis

摘要

Blood is one of the primary body fluids found ubiquitously at crime scenes. The forensic identification of blood can be challenging because of various factors such as contamination with matrices, trace amounts of samples, mixing with other body fluids, and the potential for false positives. The forensic examination of blood employs a range of techniques and methods, including color tests for the preliminary identification of blood, blood grouping, immunoassay techniques for determining the species of origin, and DNA profiling for personal identification. Serological tests allow for the examination of blood serum to identify specific substances such as enzymes, antigens, or antibodies. These tests possess the ability to establish the provenance of blood, discern between human and non-human blood, and furnish further insights regarding the blood sample. Certain microscopic tests such as Teichmann and Takayama tests can provide confirmatory identification of blood. Further confirmation of blood can be achieved using molecular and spectroscopic approaches.
