The Chern-Simons Theory in 2+1 Dimensions

The Chern-Simons theory is a field theory in 2+1 dimensions with applications to the quantum Hall effect, knot theory, gravity, etc. General features of the geometric quantization of this theory are considered here, with some details presented for \(S^2\) and for the Abelian theory on the torus.
