Philosophy of Science from Artistotle and William of Ockham to Structuralism

Since Ockham’s razor is often used as a heuristic to argue in favour of one interpretation of quantum mechanics or another we want to clarify its origins, its philosophical embedding in philosophy of science and discuss its application in quantum mechanics. First, we provide an overview of the historical context and environment to understand the origins of the principle of Ockham’s razor.
