摘要

There is normally 1–2 mL of fluid between the visceral and parietal layers of the tunica albuginea that surrounds the testis. The presence of abnormal amount of fluid in this space can be seen with hydrocele, hematocele, or pyocele. Varicocele is characterized by increase in the diameter of the pampiniform plexus veins, resulting in a collection of tortuous elongated veins posterior to the testicle. The sonographic findings of epididymitis include enlarged, hypoechoic, or hyperechoic epididymis and hydrocele. Fournier gangrene is a rapidly progressing polymicrobial necrotizing fasciitis, which involves the perineal, perianal, or genital regions.
