Imaging of Acute Head Emergencies

In the management of acute intracranial emergencies, triage of patients is key, and therefore, proper diagnosis on early imaging can go a long way in directing the appropriate workup and management. In this chapter, we will discuss the high-yield acute head emergencies. Pseudo-subarachnoid hemorrhage can mimic subarachnoid hemorrhage, and radiologists should be familiar with these potential mimics of SAH.
