Building and Enhancing a Simulated Participant Program with and for Older Adults

Creating or expanding your program to include older adult SPs will bring new opportunities and challenges. Careful planning can save you time in the long run. This chapter describes a step-by-step approach to creating a successful SP program focused on people aged 60 and older using the Association of Standardized Patient Educators (ASPE) Standards of Best Practice (SOBP) Domain 4 Program Management as a guide (Lewis et al., Adv Simul 2(1):1–8, 2017). A list of resources is also provided at the end of the chapter.
