This book focuses on the role of older adult simulated participants (SPs) in simulations, especially but not exclusively in the care of older adults. This chapter introduces essential concepts related to working with older adult SPs, including key terms. It summarizes key considerations in working with older adult SPs, shares the origins of the book, introduces the editors and authors, and orients readers to the structure of the book.
