Colorectal Cancers
摘要
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a common malignancy worldwide, with a higher incidence in developed countries. Risk factors include age, family history, genetic syndromes (e.g., Lynch syndrome, FAP), lifestyle factors (e.g., diet, smoking, alcohol consumption), and certain medical conditions (e.g., inflammatory bowel disease). CRC screening is crucial for early detection and can involve colonoscopy, fecal occult blood tests, or CT colonography. Treatment options depend on the stage and location of the cancer and may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and targeted therapy. Surgical resection is the primary curative treatment for localized CRC, while advanced stages may require multimodal approaches. The prognosis of CRC varies based on the stage at diagnosis, with earlier stages having better outcomes. Surveillance after treatment is important for detecting recurrence or new malignancies. This chapter discusses the epidemiology, risk factors, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of CRC, emphasizing the importance of early detection and appropriate management for improved patient outcomes.
