摘要

Thyroid cancer is a common endocrine malignancy with various histological subtypes, each with distinct clinical features and management approaches. The most common types include papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), follicular thyroid carcinoma (FTC), medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), and anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC). Risk factors for thyroid cancer include radiation exposure, family history, and certain genetic mutations. PTC is the most prevalent form and is often associated with a favorable prognosis. FTC is less common and can spread hematogenously. MTC originates from parafollicular C cells and can be sporadic or part of multiple endocrine neoplasia (MEN) syndromes. ATC is rare but highly aggressive. Treatment options vary by subtype and may include surgery, radioactive iodine therapy, and targeted therapies. Monitoring for recurrence is crucial, especially for more aggressive forms of thyroid cancer.
