Evolution of an Academic Integrity Librarian

This chapter documents the path of an academic librarian into the role of the academic integrity librarian. The origin and highlights of events that occurred and which informed the decision-making process are discussed. The logic, arguments for and against, and the justification for librarians taking on the additional responsibility of an academic integrity position are reviewed. The role continues to adapt to new threats to academic integrity, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), with a discussion on policies as they relate to AI.
