Exploring Ethical Considerations on Using Generative AI among University Computer Science Students with Focus on Diversity
摘要
The development of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot has made them easily accessible to university students. In computer science, these tools are capable of helping students with writing and explaining code. As this is a relatively new development the implications of using generative AI in education are still not well understood. The effect of the availability and use of AI among university students with regard to diversity is also an area which requires attention. In computer science women and other minority students are less likely to complete their degrees as opposed to men. This chapter will explore the use of generative AI tools among computer science students and discuss implications for diversity.
