Confidentiality and Psychological Secrecy in the Field of Psychological Services
摘要
It can be stated with confidence that psychology is experiencing a «rebirth» in the modern world. The boom in referrals to psychologists is primarily associated with the pandemic and economic crises. Therefore, the legal aspect of providing such assistance is of particular importance. Special attention is paid to the circulation of information in this area. This is due to the fact that clients trust the psychologist with their most intimate things. And the quality of the service provided depends on how confident they are in its non-proliferation. It is trust that underlies the psychologist-client relationship. Thanks to it, the client shares with the psychologist what is important and valuable to him, opens up his experiences. The well-being and health of not only the client and his family, but also other people sometimes depend on how the specialist disposes of the information received during the consultation. Not all countries regulate the professional activity of a psychologist at the legal level. In a number of countries, the ethical code of psychologists plays an important role. But both laws and ethical codes enshrine the principle of confidentiality in the provision of psychological services. And this principle is recognized as one of the basic principles.
