Digital Finance: Key Representatives of the Cryptocurrency Market

This work examines the current market of digital finance through the prism of cryptocurrency representatives. The growing interest in cryptocurrencies stems from their potential as an alternative form of investment, digital currency and a valuable tool for technological innovations. Cryptocurrencies have a number of key characteristics that make them unique compared to traditional financial assets. As part of the study, the top 10 currently existing cryptocurrencies that occupy the first 10 places in the current ranking were selected. Each cryptocurrency was analyzed based on their time on the market, current unit value, security and anonymity, as well as the cost of their transactions. Some actively discussed disadvantages of using cryptocurrency were also considered (instability, hacker attacks, lack of an appropriate legislative framework and others. The main research methods include analysis, systematization and generalization. It was concluded that the listed characteristics do not affect the position of the cryptocurrency in the ranking.
