Prospects for Applying Technology to Support Digital Transformation at Vietnamese Educational Institutions: A Thematic Analysis
摘要
The digital transformation of higher education institutions (HEIs) in Vietnam is a significant phenomenon, yet there exists a paucity of research specifically investigating the application of technology to support such transformations, resulting in a notable knowledge gap. This study aims to explore the potential applications of technology to facilitate digital transformation in Vietnamese HEIs and to identify key areas where technological interventions can significantly impact these institutions. Adopting a qualitative case study design, this research delves into the complexities of applying technology for digital transformation in Vietnamese HEIs. Twelve experienced professionals from the domains of education and technology participated in in-depth interviews, complemented by focus group discussions with members of the expert community involved in digital transformation initiatives. Thematic analysis was employed to analyze the collected data, ensuring rigor and consistency in data interpretation. The study revealed insights into various aspects of prospective digital transformation in Vietnamese HEIs, emphasizing infrastructure components, technology adoption, and challenges associated with integrating information and communications technology. Furthermore, the research identified the potential of technologies such as e-learning, artificial intelligence, and blockchain to enhance educational quality and foster innovation within these institutions.
