3D Print of Clamping Tools Used in Electric Motor Manufacturing

摘要

The article deals with the testing of special clamps that were produced with the help of additive 3D printing technology. The primary purpose of the entire test was to test the clamps and to reduce the costs of manufacturing the prototype of the clamping devices. As part of the experiment itself, a special composite of ONYX plastic with carbon fiber was used. The primary purpose was to find out whether the clamps made by 3D printing from composite will be able to replace conventionally made metal clamps and, due to the reduction in the weight of the entire rotary system, whether it will be possible to increase the production parameters and thus obtain a higher quality of machining. A total of two clamp tests were performed. The clamp was given the working name of the external clamp. The design was completely taken from the original metal clamps, which were made of steel and used for everyday production. The main idea was only to change the material, so that the clamps for subsequent and possible future conventional production no longer had to change in terms of design, but only to replace the material used. As part of prototype production, it happens that the clamps are used only once, mostly during development and possibly the zero series, because the further development of the design of the electric motor shield requires a change in the design of the clamps as well. The usability of this study was mainly conceived for the prototype production of shields during the introduction of new types of electric motors, or their facelifts, and thus for the subsequent machining of all important surfaces.
