Microbiota and Dermatological Diseases

  • Margarita Sanchez-Pece

摘要

The human microbiota significantly influences skin health and dermatological diseases. This chapter explores the intricate relationship between microbiota alterations, particularly dysbiosis, and skin conditions like psoriasis, rosacea, and atopic dermatitis. Initial discussions highlighted the microbiota’s broader significance in immune function, homeostasis, and pathogen protection. Focusing on the skin microbiota, the chapters reveal dysbiosis as a key contributor to inflammatory skin disorders. Specific dermatological diseases, including acne vulgaris and atopic dermatitis, are scrutinized for their correlation with microbiota changes. Molecular mechanisms and therapeutic interventions, from topical probiotics to emerging bacteriotherapies, are explored. The abstract concludes by highlighting ongoing research endeavors and the imperative of understanding the microbiota-skin connection for effective diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions.
