On Happiness

Every discipline and every person seeks the keys to happiness. Sociology searches for them by focusing on its central concept, social structure. That search is facilitated in this volume by five decades of the General Social Survey, the gold standard for quantitative research. It is complemented by qualitative questions administered by a professional interviewing firm asking for people’s personal insights into happiness.
