Introduction

The purpose of this chapter is to introduce the readers with the aim of the study which is to analyze the impact of the China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor (CPEC) on the common lives across rural and urban areas of Pakistan. The study adopts a unique approach to gauge the changes in lives of common people due to CPEC through measuring CPEC’s impacts on SDG 3 (Good Health and Well Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Economic Well Being). The key findings of the study indicate towards the attainment of SDG 8 to some extent while having nominal impact of this grand development initiative on SDGs 3 and 4. It recommends more synchronization between the development goals of CPEC with SDGs so as to make this initiative truly impactful at grassroot level.
