Sociology as a Witness to the Value Dormancy of Post-socialist Society or Ideological Subjugation

Guided by the need to present the institutional development of sociological thought in Montenegro, the authors of this paper strive to offer relevant findings about the post-socialist society and its development through a heuristic approach and insist on an introverted analysis of the previous socio-economic system and an understanding of those factors that comprise the spectrum of external influences on it. By formation and ‘ideological maturity’ in social and value upheavals, sociology acquired the status of ‘a rebel’ that cannot be said to be in collusion with official ideological ghosts, finding in the current society the only companion that suits its nature. Therefore, this paper attempts to show all the sociological efforts in the period of social transformation in Montenegro that have not deviated from the primary sociological followership.
